•  To establish theoretical and practical background to the design of a smoke ring generator

Objectives

•  Establish fluid dynamics of vortex rings
•  Design  and test sub-scale apparatus to generate vortex/smoke rings
•  Specify requirements for full scale smoke ring generating machine

Project Background
A Manchester firework company wishes to develop a device for producing large-scale smoke rings for use in theatrical performances. This project will investigate the theoretical and practical feasibility of developing such a machine.
